Nehru Zoological Park Sees Over 1 Lakh Visitors During Christmas Weekend

Hyderabad: The Nehru Zoological Park said it had recorded more than one lakh visitors from December 23 in view of the Christmas holiday weekend, including 23,044 on Sunday.

Additional ticket booking counters were opened and volunteers assisted visitors with ticket booking and general guidance. Additional drinking water units were set, while security guards were deployed. Special programmes such as animal keepers’ talk shows and snake awareness shows were organised to educate visitors about wildlife conservation.
M. Barnoba, deputy curator, thanked visitors for choosing the zoo during the holidays, and said that the zoo has attracted more visitors by introducing new species such as zebra, meerkat, serval cat, barasingha and white swan through animal exchange programmes.
