Hyderabad:Ahead of the NEET(UG) on Sunday, officials conducted mock drills at all centres on Saturday to ensure that foolproof arrangements had been made for students taking the high-pressure test. Officials visited the centres briefed invigilators about the conduct of the exam. Teams with signal jammers and biometric authentication devices were present. Teams from the law and order and traffic police also visited the assigned centres. National Testing Agency (NTA) officials checked the Infrastructure and strong rooms.

The exam is scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm in the OMR-based pen and paper mode. Candidates will be allowed to inside the test centres from 11 am and gates will be closed at 1.30 pm. A total of 72,507 candidates have registered to take NEET in 190 centres across the state. In Hyderabad, the exam will be held in 62 centres for about 26,000 students.

Exams will be conducted under the CCTV surveillance under the supervision of observors, chief superintendents and deputy superintendents. Centres have set up separate cabins for women for frisking. Separate tables have been organised for registration and biometric authentication. Classrooms have been numbered with seating accordingly.

All centres will have uninterrupted power supply, drinking water. Medical teams will be available for health related concerns, ORS Packets are stocked to handle heat wave problems. wheel chairs are arranged for specially abled candidates, scribes are allotted and 2 candidates are allocated for each room for specially abled.

NTA urged candidates to not fall prey to individuals or groups who seek to manipulate them. Students were advised to rely on official communications from the NTA website and avoid engaging unverified sources claiming to influence examination process.

The NTA said the agency had taken action on cases reported through the ‘Suspicious claims portal’ under the Union home ministry. Action has initiated against over 165 Telegram channels for spreading false content, it said.

The agency warned any attempts to promise medical seats through dishonest means will fall under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, which mandates strict penalities for using unfair means.
