Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday nabbed Ponna Sumathi, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) and Vadthyavath Tej Singh, Mandal Panchayat officer (MPO) of Nandigama mandal in a bribe case. Panchayat Secretary Avula Chennaiah was also nabbed in the same case.
The ACB arrested them for demanding Rs.2.50 lakh and accepted the part payment of Rs.1 lakh through Chennaiah from the complainant for doing official favour. The bribe was demanded for processing and issuing of house building permission for four plots.
The complainant had applied and paid the requisite fee. Earlier, Sumathi and Singh had already accepted an initial payment of a bribe amount of Rs.1.50 lakh. The tainted bribe amount of Rs.1. lakh was recovered from the possession of Chennaiah.
