AIDLABAD: Palvai Harish Babu, BJP MLA of Sirpur (T), on Sunday requested Union minister for coal G. Kishan Reddy to regularise the special festival train (Train No. 07711/ 07712) that is being operated for the festival season from Secunderabad to Kagaznagar and name the train as Bathukamma Express, respecting the sentiment of the people of Telangana for the Bathukamma festival.
Harish Babu submitted a memorandum to Kishan Reddy and requested him to continue the special train services, as there was heavy demand for the train and all the seats were booked till October 25.
The South Central Railway is operating a special train from Secunderabad to Kagaznagar from October 9 and will continue till October 25 to mitigate the heavy rush of people who travel in the wake of the Bathukamma festival.
