Nalgonda: Two Students Drown In Farm Well While Catching Fish

Nalgonda: Two students drowned in an agricultural open well at Khaji Ramaram in Nalgonda district after they slipped while trying to catch fish, police said on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Bolgiri Lucky, 10, a Class 6 student, and Bongarala Bhargav, 14, a Class 10 student. Both were natives of Khaji Ramaram in Nalgonda mandal and studied at a local school.

Police said the boys left home after school on Saturday evening and did not return at night. Their parents lodged a complaint with the Nalgonda Rural police. On Sunday, police examined CCTV footage from the village and found the boys moving with fishing tackle. With the help of locals, police searched an agricultural open well on the outskirts of the village and recovered the bodies.

Police said the boys did not know how to swim. The bodies were shifted to the Government General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
