According to reports, the students are from the Damaracherla Welfare Hostel in Nalgonda district. The video has sparked concerns over students being made to perform cooking-related duties at the hostel.

Parents have expressed severe anguish over the principal and other staff, alleging that despite salaries being paid to the hostel staff, students are being made to carry out such duties.
