Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, he said, took the historic decision to write off Rs 2 lakh agriculture loans, and being a son of a farmer, he will not take any steps to install meters for agriculture power connections, Kodanda Reddy said.

Hyderabad:Telangana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission chairman M. Kodanda Reddy on Saturday said his comments on electricity required by farmers to water their crops was being twisted by opposition parties.

Speaking with reporters, Kodanda Reddy said, “I am a farmer and I have knowledge of these issues. When I was speaking at the public hearing on Rythu Discom, I said power must be supplied round the clock but farmers need about three hours of power to irrigate one acre. There is nothing wrong with this comment which was twisted out of context by some.”
