Hyderabad: Expressing solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Muslims wore black armbands during Jumma Namaz (Friday prayers) in a symbolic gesture to condemn the terrorist attack.

At mosques across the city, they called for decisive action against the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack and reiterated that such acts have no place in Islam or society.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi distributed black bands to worshippers before offering namaz at a mosque in Shastripuram. He condemned the Pahalgam attack and expressed solidarity with the victims' families.

AIMIM Asembly floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi also wore a black armband and offered namaz at OHRC campus at Kanchanbagh as per the MIM chief’s call to the members of Muslim community to wear the black band in Friday prayers.

After taking part in Friday prayers at Macca Masjid near Charminar, a group of protestors took out a rally up to Madina, chanting slogans against terrorism and Pakistan. They demanded strong diplomatic and military measures to ensure national security.

Placards bearing messages such as `Hindustan Zindabad’ and `Pakistan Murdabad’ underscored the community’s solidarity with the victims and their families.

“What happened to our tourists in Pahalgam is extremely unfortunate and painful. Curse be upon the terrorists who carried out this heinous act. We prayed for the souls of those killed in Kashmir and for peace to prevail in our nation,” said one of the attendees at Macca Masjid.
