Muslim Youth's Hanuman Devotion Inspires Unity

KARIMNAGAR: A young Muslim man from Pudur village has become a symbol of communal harmony after successfully undertaking the rigorous 11-day Hanuman deeksha.

Mohammed Yusuf, a resident of Kodimyal mandal, donned saffron robes and undertook the demanding spiritual discipline. The deeksha was a thanksgiving after a near-fatal accident near Kondagattu last year, which he believes he survived by divine grace.

Attributing his survival to the blessings of Lord Rama and Hanuman, Yusuf vowed to perform the penance as gratitude. Throughout the 11 days, he adhered to the strict rules of a ‘mala’ wearer, including barefoot travel and a restricted diet, showing that devotion transcends religious boundaries.

On Hanuman Chinna Jayanti, Yusuf walked up to the Kondagattu hill shrine, where he offered prayers at the sanctum of Sri Anjaneya Swamy and formally concluded his vow. His presence was warmly received by fellow devotees, who hailed his act as a powerful message of unity.

Speaking on his experience, Yusuf said religions may differ but the essence of God remains one. “All religions are equal, and there should be no barriers in how people offer prayers or express gratitude to the divine,” he stated.

His story has since gone viral, with community elders and leaders praising him for fostering social cohesion. In a time when communal lines are often sharply drawn, Yusuf’s faith has offered a fresh perspective on mutual respect and shared spiritual heritage.
