T Govt Sanctions Rs 1,108 Cr For Omkareshwara Temple
The Telangana Government on Wednesday issued orders to release Rs 1,108.27 crore for the development of the Omkareshwara Swamy temple complex at Manchirevula, along with the construction of a six-lane road as part of the Musi Riverfront development project.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Wednesday has issued administrative sanctions worth Rs 1,108.27 crore for the development of the Omkareshwara Swamy temple complex at Manchirevula and the construction of a six-lane road as part of the Musi Riverfront Project development works. The orders were issued through G.O.Rt.No.928.
The government has allocated Rs 948.65 crore for the temple complex development at Manchirevula. Structures such as rajagopurams (temple gateway towers), a yagashala (sacrificial hall) and a pushkarini (temple tank) will be built in the complex. A further Rs 159.62 crore has been allocated for the six-lane road, which will be 30 metres (100 feet) wide and about 2.5 km long, running from Istana Villas to Kirti Westwind Villas. The road will connect to the Greyhounds and Young India Police School areas, and will also give the temple complex better connectivity to the Musi Riverfront road network.
In another key development, the State government has constituted a technical committee for the development of the Omkareshwara temple, which will provide technical guidance for the Rs 700 crore temple project, with key responsibilities covering designs, DPRs (detailed project reports), rates and tenders. The government has issued G.O.Rt.No.929 in this regard.
The R&B (Roads and Buildings) Engineer-in-Chief will chair the committee, with the Public Health Engineer-in-Chief as co-chairman and the MRDCL (Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited) Chief Engineer as convener. The members will be the Endowments Chief Engineer, temple architecture expert Dr. E. Sivanagireddy, and the Additional Secretary of the Finance Department.
