Mulugu Tahsildar Held in Rs.14,000 Bribe Case
Tahsildar demanded bribe for showing official favour in connection with the succession of ancestral agricultural land in favour of the complainant's wife
Hyderabad: Nellutla Srujan Kumar, who is a Tahsildar of Govinderaopet mandal in Mulugu district, was caught red-handed by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday at his office, while demanding and accepting Rs.14,000 from the complainant.
He demanded the bribe for showing official favour in connection with the succession of ancestral agricultural land in favour of the complainant's wife, Lingala Sriatha. Kumar had initially demanded Rs.15,000, which was subsequently reduced to Rs.14,000 after bargaining.
During the trap proceedings, Kumar received the tainted bribe amount with his right hand and kept it in his right-side trouser pocket. The tainted amount was recovered from his possession and the chemical test conducted on his right-hand fingers yielded positive results.
