Sub-inspector Tajuddin, speaking on the occasion, said that under the guidance of SP Shabarish, the police department is conducting grama sabhas across villages for community welfare and direct public engagement.

WARANGAL: To address grassroots-level issues, the police department has started organising Grama Sabhas to directly understand and resolve public problems here in Ramanna Gudem village of Eturnagaram mandal in Mulugu district on Thursday.
Sub-inspector Tajuddin, speaking on the occasion, said that under the guidance of SP Shabarish, the police department is conducting grama sabhas across villages for community welfare and direct public engagement.
During the meeting, villagers raised concerns about clogged side canals causing inconvenience. Responding to it, SI Tajuddin contacted MPDO Rajyalakshmi who supervised the cleaning operations and resolved the issue.
Another concern was the leakage in Mission Bhagiratha pipeline, leading to water contamination due to nearby open drains. The police coordinated with the concerned departments to carry out urgent repairs and ensure clean drinking water for residents.
With the monsoon approaching, villagers expressed fear over the annual flooding from the Godavari River due to damaged embankments. The SI assured that the issue will be taken to concerned higher authorities and that funds for embankment construction were being allocated. In the meantime, the police would provide protection to prevent flood-related risks, he added.
