Hyderabad:The Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) has invited quotations to conduct a geotechnical investigation of the Mir Alam Tank bed in Hyderabad. The notice, dated April 21, seeks agencies to carry out subsoil exploration and determine the engineering characteristics of the tank bed. The deadline for submitting sealed bids is 3 pm on April 24.
As per the tender document, the scope of work includes mobilisation of drilling equipment, transporting floating platforms across the water body and extracting soil samples up to 15 metres deep or until refusal strata is encountered. Both disturbed and undisturbed samples are to be collected, followed by a series of laboratory tests to assess grain size distribution, shear strength, moisture content, and chemical composition of both soil and water.
The samples will be retrieved using various core drilling techniques, depending on soil consistency and core recovery percentage. Each borehole will be supported by detailed logging, and the laboratory tests are to be conducted in line with Indian Standards.
The selected agency is expected to submit a final report comprising bore log charts, soil profiles, and foundation design recommendations in both hard and soft formats. MRDCL has made the tender details available on its official website and directed interested bidders to submit quotations at its office in the ENC building premises, Masab Tank.
