MP Arvind Threatens Hunger Strike if State Fails to Clear ROB Dues

Arvind criticised PCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, saying he lacked a proper understanding of the ROB funding process and should study the issue before commenting.

Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri warned that he would go on a hunger strike within a week if the state government fails to release funds for the Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) in the district. He said the Arsapalli-Adavi Mamidipalli ROB requires ₹22 crore, of which nearly ₹18 crore had been deposited several years ago. However, he alleged that the previous BRS government diverted those funds.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP district office on Wednesday, the MP said that for the Madhavanagar ROB, 70 per cent of the required funds were released by the Central government. He urged district officials to fulfil their responsibilities regarding pending bills, adding that although a review meeting was held with the district collector two months ago, there has been no progress since. He stressed that officials should work responsibly and independently, not merely at the behest of the state government.

Arvind criticised PCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, saying he lacked a proper understanding of the ROB funding process and should study the issue before commenting. He clarified that it is the state government that has failed to release the Central funds, and accused it of shielding the BRS while trying to malign the BJP.

He also pointed out that, despite the state-constituted committee finding irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, no action has been taken. Arvind accused the BRS regime of creating fake voter IDs and passports, and alleged that drug trafficking is rampant in Jubilee Hills, claiming that K.T. Rama Rao protected local leaders involved.

He further questioned why MLC K. Kavitha’s resignation, if submitted, has not yet been accepted, and called the Kalvakuntla family a major threat to national security.

National Turmeric Board chairman Palle Ganga Reddy, Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, BJP state secretary Sravanthi Reddy, and other leaders were present.
