MP Arvind: Nizamabad to Be Renamed as Indur

Arvind said the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was focused on welfare and improving connectivity, citing his constituency as an example. He said about 60,000 self-help groups were benefiting from subsidy-linked loans.

Nizamabad: BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri on Friday said Nizamabad would be renamed Indur, stating that a resolution to this effect would be adopted in the first general body meeting of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and then forwarded to the Chief Minister’s Office.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP district office, Arvind expressed confidence that the BJP would win a majority of divisions in the upcoming municipal elections in Nizamabad town and secure the mayor’s post. He said the city’s original name was Indur and that it was later changed to Nizamabad due to a political decision, adding that restoring the original name would aid the city’s development.

The MP appealed to the Muslim minority community to reconsider their voting choices and support the vision of a developed India. He alleged that areas with sizeable Muslim populations lacked basic amenities and were often treated as vote banks by political parties during elections. He criticised the Congress and the BRS for failing to fulfil their promises and claimed they had harmed the interests of the community.
