Mounting Debt of Telangana a Grave Concern: Etala
Claiming that BJP MPs and MLAs stood firm against the state government’s alleged attempt to sell the lands of the University of Hyderabad, Rajendar asserted that the party would not allow the Congress government to continue with anti-people policies

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri BJP MP Etala Rajendar alleged that the people were living in a state of constant insecurity over the implementation of welfare schemes, salary payments to government employees and pensions to retirees, due to the government being caught in a deep debt trap. He pointed out that ministers had admitted to paying Rs.84,000 crore annually —Rs.7,000 crore every month—towards debt servicing.
Speaking at a drivers’ conference organised by the Bharat Transport Mazdoor Mahasangh as part of the 70th anniversary of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Rajendar said beneficiaries of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes had not received their sanctioned amounts even after a year. He added that contractors and village sarpanches who undertook development works were still awaiting payment.
Rajendar stated that the BJP would focus on resolving people’s issues instead of engaging in petty political fights. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had allocated Rs.4 lakh crore to tackle unemployment and that schemes like PM Vishwakarma Yojana and Mudra are providing loans to the unemployed without the need for collateral.
Claiming that BJP MPs and MLAs stood firm against the state government’s alleged attempt to sell the lands of the University of Hyderabad, Rajendar asserted that the party would not allow the Congress government to continue with anti-people policies.
Earlier, while participating in the Hanuman Shobha Yatra at Sultan Bazaar, Rajendar extended greetings to activists, leaders and Hindu devotees for organising grand rallies in every basti, village and town across the state.
