Mother Seeks Urgent Repatriation of Son From Abu Dhabi for Agniveer Recruitment

Hyderabad:A woman from Jagtial district has appealed to the CM Pravasi Prajavani for urgent assistance to bring her son back from Abu Dhabi so that he can take part in the Indian Army's Agniveer recruitment process.
According to the letter, Koparthi Abhilash, a resident of Patha Gudur in Endapalli mandal of Jagtial district, travelled to Abu Dhabi from Mumbai on July 8 through a licensed Gulf recruitment agency based in Jagtial. He initially travelled on a tourist visa and was later issued an employment visa on July 13.
On July 14, Abhilash received an email informing him that he had been shortlisted for the physical screening test under the Army's Agniveer recruitment rally. His family said joining the Army had been his long-held dream.
Abhilash's mother Sumalatha alleged that the company employing her son has refused to release him unless a visa cancellation penalty of AED 4,100 (around `1.08 lakh) was paid. She said that the recruitment agent had also conveyed the same condition, leaving the family unable to arrange the amount for her son to return to India in time for the recruitment process.
On Friday, Sumalatha submitted a representation at the CM Pravasi Prajavani held at Praja Bhavan, requesting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene and facilitate her son's immediate repatriation from Abu Dhabi.
She also met CM Prajavani nodal officer K. Vidyasagar and appealed for support. Responding to the request, Vidyasagar wrote to the special chief secretary, general administration department (GAD), seeking immediate intervention to help Abhilash return to India without delay. Mandha Bheem Reddy, vice-chairman of the state government’s NRI Advisory Committee, counselled the family during the programme.
