Hyderabad:Police and maintenance personnel rescued a mother and her child who were trapped inside a lift at a residential apartment in KPHB Phase 9 on Monday. Police said the lift malfunctioned, leaving the woman and her child stranded inside for several minutes.
Frightened by the situation, the family alerted the emergency services, following which KPHB police rushed to the apartment. Police coordinated with the apartment management and lift maintenance personnel to rescue the occupants. After efforts to restore the lift failed, the team manually opened it and rescued the woman and child Both were conscious and escaped without injuries, though they were visibly shaken by the ordeal.
Indian Army Colonel's Son Succumbs To Injuries As His Car Overturns
Hyderabad:A 22-year-old student, the son of a Colonel in the India Army, succumbed to injuries after the car he was driving lost control and overturned in Yapral early on Monday. The deceased was identified as Vellangulam Varun.
According to the complaint lodged by his father, Colonel Nalin Mohan, Varun left home at around 7 pm on Sunday to meet his friends at Sainikpuri. He was returning home at around 4 am when the accident occurred.
Police said Varun was allegedly driving at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car rammed into a roadside slope in front of a house and overturned. Varun suffered severe head injuries in the crash, while his friends, identified as Ali and Arun, sustained minor injuries.
His friends shifted him in another vehicle to the Military Hospital where doctors confirmed that he died on the way to the hospital. Police registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
