Dubai police have arrested a Pakistani national for the double murder, which also claimed the life of another Telangana resident.
KARIMNAGAR: The body of Sargam Srinivas (45), one of two Telugus stabbed to death in a Dubai hotel last week, reached his native Dhammanapet village on Saturday after swift intervention by the Telangana government.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked NRI Advisory Council chairman Dr B.M. Vinod Kumar to liaise with the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the Union ministry of external affairs; the paperwork for repatriation was cleared in two days. Government Chief Whip and local MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar received the coffin and conveyed condolences to the family.
Under the state’s NRI relief policy, the bereaved household will receive ₹5 lakh ex gratia, an outsourcing job for one member and a house under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the MLA said.
