Monsoon Covers Entire Telangana As IMD Forecasts Widespread Rain, Cooler Days Ahead
Heavy showers likely across districts as temperatures set to drop by 5°C.

Hyderabad: After a delayed and uneven start, the southwest monsoon has now covered all of Telangana, with the IMD forecasting widespread rain, thunderstorms and a fall in temperatures.
Several districts experienced heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Very heavy to heavy rain was reported in Peddapalli district, while heavy rain occurred in parts of Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Rangareddy, Jagtial, Mancherial, Kamareddy and Kumuram Bheem districts. Heatwave conditions were still recorded in isolated pockets of Adilabad and Peddapalli.
The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places across Telangana through at least June 30. A gradual fall of up to 5°C in maximum temperatures is expected during the next four days. A yellow warning, basically asking residents to look out, for heavy rainfall have been issued for several districts between June 23 and June 29, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-50 kmph are likely across the state.
According to the Telangana Planning Development Society, Rangareddy district has recorded a 64-per cent surplus rainfall, while Warangal, Siddipet and Hanumakonda remained in the large deficient category. Hyderabad has received 101.3 mm rainfall so far this month, 21 per cent above normal, the society said.
For Hyderabad, the IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers, particularly during evenings and nights, over the next two days. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain around 33°C to 34°C.
