Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Plans Safe, Clean Ganesh Idol Immersion
The Bhagyanagar Utsav Samithi representatives assured the civic authorities of their cooperation in ensuring that the Ganesh festivities and immersion programmes are conducted peacefully and safe.
Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) officials discussed arrangements for Ganesh idol installation, processions and immersion, with focus on devotee safety, traffic management, sanitation, road repairs, lighting, power, medical and emergency services and infrastructure at immersion points, at a meeting here on Thursday.
Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy directed all departments to complete the required works well in advance through close coordination. Attention was directed towards sanitation and the collection and proper disposal of flowers, puja material and other waste after immersion. Officials were asked to encourage the use of artificial immersion ponds for smaller idols to protect natural water bodies.
