MLA Nayini Ready for Public Debate With BJP on Development in Warangal
Warangal heats up as Congress, BJP spar over development ahead of GWMC polls

Hanamkonda: Political temperature is rising in Warangal ahead of the forthcoming Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) elections, with the Congress and BJP trading charges over the city's development. The latest exchange follows remarks of union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar at a BJP meeting in Warangal during the visit of BJP national president Nitin Nabin. Responding to the ministers’ comments, Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy said Congress is prepared for an open public debate on the development of Warangal. He challenged BJP leaders to decide on the date, time, and venue for the discussion. He went on to question the BJP's contribution to Telangana's development. He pointed out that the Congress government has allocated ₹300 crore towards land acquisition for the proposed Mamnoor Airport project. Rajender Reddy maintained that development works are progressing rapidly in the erstwhile Warangal district under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He asked BJP leaders to participate in a public discussion if they are confident of their claims.
Countering BJP, the MLA alleged that paper leak incidents have affected the future of lakhs of unemployed youth. Further, Warangal has lost out on Smart City allocations.
He maintained that central funds are taxpayers' money. He demanded that BJP leaders explain what they have done for Telangana during the past decade.
