Man Swept Away After Falling Into Open Manhole in Miyapur
According to reports, nala repair works are currently underway near the Vyshalinagar Underpass, and the manhole had been left open as part of the ongoing work. Balayya is suspected to have accidentally slipped into the open manhole and was swept away.

Hyderabad: A man was washed away after allegedly falling into an open manhole near the Vyshalinagar Railway Underpass in Miyapur on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Balayya, a resident of Prem Nagar, Hafeezpet.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, teams from HYDRAA, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and other departments rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.
According to reports, nala repair works are currently underway near the Vyshalinagar Underpass, and the manhole had been left open as part of the ongoing work. Balayya is suspected to have accidentally slipped into the open manhole and was swept away.
MLA Arekapudi Gandhi also visited the site, reviewed the situation with officials, and directed them to expedite the rescue operation. Search teams are continuing efforts to trace the missing man.
Arekapudi Gandhi said that although warning boards had been placed near the work site, the incident was unfortunate. He urged the public to remain cautious over the next two to three days, as rain is forecast, and advised them to avoid restricted routes and areas where repair works are in progress.
Meanwhile, Balayya's family members alleged that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the contractor and the officials responsible for the work.
