Miyapur CA Student Dies by Suicide, Note Cites Academic Failure

According to Miyapur Sub-Inspector Krishna, Janardhan had multiple backlogs and had not appeared for his final-year CA exams

Hyderabad: What was initially registered as a suspicious death by Miyapur Police has now been confirmed as a suicide. A 27-year-old Chartered Accountancy student ended his life in Gokul Plots, in Miyapur, leaving behind a note citing academic failure and inability to clear exams.

The victim, K. Janardhan, 27, was a native of Uppalapadu village in Kurnool district. He was pursuing CA in Chennai. According to Miyapur Sub-Inspector Krishna, Janardhan had multiple backlogs and had not appeared for his final-year CA exams. He moved to his friends’ house in Gokul Plots, Miyapur, in February this year.

Police said Janardhan, on Thursday evening, while alone at home, first attempted suicide by cutting his tongue. He then died by hanging from a ceiling fan with a lungi.

Friends who returned home found him and alerted his parents and the police. Initially, officers treated the case as suspicious after finding blood stains and signs that Janardhan had walked a short distance in the room. The doubts were cleared once the suicide note was recovered.

Investigation also revealed that Janardhan had attempted suicide earlier due to academic stress but survived. Miyapur Police have registered a case of suicide.
