Nalgonda: Contestants from the Miss World pageant will visit the Buddhist theme park Buddha Vanam near Nagarjunasagar Dam on May 12, officials announced on Saturday.
K. Lakshmi, director of the State Gallery of Art, conducted an on-site inspection and chaired a preparatory meeting with park authorities and representatives of the district administration. “This event will attract attention from around the globe,” Lakshmi said. “We must ensure foolproof crowd-management and security arrangements, and install adequate lighting along access roads to accommodate our international guests.”
District collector Ila Tripathi and senior officials from the tourism, public works and local police departments also attended the briefing. Departments have been tasked with coordinating traffic diversions, emergency medical coverage and sanitation to ensure a smooth, high-profile visit.
