Minor Ganja Peddler from Delhi Caught in Hyderabad
Twenty-four packets of dry ganja weighing 48 kgs wrapped with brown tape and concealed in two airbags were seized from the possession of the minor along with a mobile phone, all worth Rs.24.50 lakh
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police caught a minor drug peddler for indulging in illegal procurement and transportation of ganja from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi to gain illegal easy money.
Twenty-four packets of dry ganja weighing 48 kgs wrapped with brown tape and concealed in two airbags were seized from the possession of the minor along with a mobile phone, all worth Rs.24.50 lakh.
Three more peddlers Bandiya of New Delhi, Noushad alias Sunil and Rajesh, both natives of Visakhapatnam, and a transporter Ankit Kumar alias Shiva of Bihar were absconding, said Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force.
He said the minor studied up to intermediate and was working as a delivery boy. Due to financial difficulties in his family and insufficient earnings, he came into contact with Ankit Kumar, a native of his village and known to him since childhood.
Ankit Kumar allegedly induced the minor to engage in the transportation of ganja for easy money. He further introduced him to Bandiya who was allegedly involved in the procurement and sale of ganja. As per the instructions of Bandiya, both Ankit Kumar and the minor travelled to Visakhapatnam, where they met Noushad and Rajesh, who allegedly supplied the substance to them.
The duo proceeded towards New Delhi for its delivery by train. The contraband was concealed in two air-carry bags and two large briefcases, containing 24 sealed packets wrapped with brown tape, collectively weighing approximately 48 kgs.
When the train reached Secunderabad Railway Station, they engaged an auto rickshaw and reached Nampally Railway Station. During the journey, Ankit Kumar left the auto, stating that he would enquire about train timings for their onward journey to Delhi.
Ankit Kumar instructed the minor to get down near a function hall in Nampally, and wait there, stating that he would join him shortly for their further journey to New Delhi. Following instructions, the minor reached the location carrying the luggage when the police detained him.
