Minister: Step Up Buggapadu Mega Food Park Works
Two core processing centres (CPC) and primary processing centres (PPC) have been completed in the 60-acre park, approved under PM KUSUM scheme on February 5, 2016.

Hyderabad:Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Buggapadu mega food park in Sattupalli mandal will emerge as a game-changer for the erstwhile Khammam district's agriculture, horticulture, aqua, and poultry sectors, and directed officials to launch it by Sankranti.
Reviewing the progress of works with industries minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat, Rao instructed authorities to accelerate basic infrastructure development. Two core processing centres (CPC) and primary processing centres (PPC) have been completed in the 60-acre park, approved under PM KUSUM scheme on February 5, 2016.
Plots across 26 acres have been allotted to companies like Gorlas Green Farms Pvt Ltd and Infinity Industries, with Deepak Next Gen Aqua Projects recently allocated land for a `615-crore investment expected to generate 3,200 jobs.
Rao, who had laid the foundation stone for the project as industries minister in 2016 under the previous BRS government, revived the stalled project after it languished for nine years. "The previous BRS government initiated it with fanfare via KTR, but it saw no full operations until our government took charge," he noted.
Located in Buggapadu for road, rail, and port connectivity, the park aims to create a farm-to-market value chain via CPC hubs supported by PPCs and Collection Centres (CCs). Rao credited his four-decade political experience for envisioning agri-based industries in high-yield areas like Sattupalli and Aswaraopet.
