Minister Seethakka Launches 6th State-level Tribal Sports Meet in Mulugu

Seethakka said the sports meet aims to identify talented tribal students and provide them with opportunities to excel at the State, national and international levels

Warangal: Panchayat raj minister Seethakka on Wednesday said that the People’s Government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is fully committed to the welfare and overall development of tribal students. She expressed pride in Mulugu district hosting the prestigious sixth State-Level Tribal Welfare Sports Meet.
The minister inaugurated the event by lighting the sports torch and wishing the participants success at the Jamboree Grounds in Eturnagaram mandal of Mulugu district. Addressing the gathering, Seethakka said the sports meet aims to identify talented tribal students and provide them with opportunities to excel at the State, national and international levels. She urged athletes from various districts to compete with true sportsmanship.
She advised students to strike a balance between academics and sports, and cautioned those staying in Tribal Welfare hostels against excessive use of smartphones and television, noting that it could lead to mental stress. Encouraging them to focus on physical fitness, she said “health is wealth” and challenged students to aim for top ranks in the forthcoming Class 10 and Intermediate examinations.
Speaking on character building, the minister urged students to develop leadership qualities, respect their teachers and draw inspiration from the lives of great personalities. She said both victory and defeat are part of sports, and advised students who lose to learn from setbacks and strive for better performance in the future.
The event was attended by ITDA project officer Chitra Mishra, Mulugu agricultural market committee chairperson Rega Kalyani, officials of the tribal welfare department and hundreds of young athletes.
