Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday directed officials to make special arrangements to ensure that people visiting registration offices do not face inconvenience amid the rush for property registrations.

Hyderabad: The state government has decided to extend working hours in 15 busy sub-registrar offices from May 12 to May 15 in view of the sharp increase in demand for property registrations following the Cabinet’s recent decision to revise land values and rationalise prices in several areas from May-end.
Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday directed officials to make special arrangements to ensure that people visiting registration offices do not face inconvenience amid the rush for property registrations.
The minister said the government had decided to extend working hours from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm against usual 10 am to 5.30 pm in the sub-registrar offices witnessing heavy footfall. These include Champapet, Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, Gandipet, Maheshwaram, Farooqnagar, Shadnagar, Rangareddy Rural, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Sangareddy, Ghatkesar, Nalgonda RO, Patancheru and Qutbullapur. He stated that the government was prepared to further increase working hours in these offices if required.
Srinivas Reddy also instructed officials to increase the number of slot bookings to meet public demand and avoid inconvenience to applicants seeking registrations.
The minister directed authorities to identify other sub-registrar offices that were witnessing a rise in registrations and extend working hours there as well, depending on the requirement. He also instructed officials to coordinate with Tahsildar offices where registrations of agricultural lands are being carried out.
Emphasising that transparency, speed and public convenience were the government’s primary objectives in the registration process, the Minister directed special secretary, stamps and registrations Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu to ensure implementation of all necessary measures in line with these goals.
