Mindspark Programme To Cover 50,000 Students State-Wide

Classrooms frequently have students at different learning levels, which makes individual academic support difficult within regular teaching hours: Officials

HYDERABAD: The tribal welfare department (TWD) will extend Mindspark, a personalised digital learning initiative, to all 322 ashram schools covering more than 50,000 students, through a CSR-funded programme in partnership with Educational Initiatives Private Limited (Ei). Another 100 schools will come under the programme by June.

Ashram schools cater to tribal children from communities where access to formal schooling has often been limited. Officials said classrooms frequently have students at different learning levels, which makes individual academic support difficult within regular teaching hours. Tribal welfare department director Santhosh B.M. said the programme would help teachers understand each child’s learning needs better.

Vivek Sehgal, senior vice-president, Ei, said the school coordination, academic monitoring and readiness across schools played an important role in the expansion plan. Mindspark has been introduced in around 125 schools over the last five years.

According to the department, schools using the platform recorded learning gains. The digital system gives students practice in Telugu, English and mathematics based on their demonstrated learning level and provides teachers data on student progress and learning gaps.
