Hyderabad:Acting swiftly on a Dial -100 alert, Miyapur police arrested a man attempting to rob an ATM in Marthandanagar, Hafeezpet. Police said they received information late in the night that a theft was in progress. A team rushed to the spot and found the suspect trying to break into the ATM. Following a preliminary inquiry, the accused was taken into custody.
The arrested person was identified as V. Katamayya, 24, a native of Anantapur district. A case was registered against him, and police launched an investigation to ascertain whether he was involved in similar offences elsewhere.
Miyapur ACP C.H.Y. Srinivas Kumar said the timely response prevented significant financial loss and highlighted the effectiveness of Dial-100 emergency services. He urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately inform the police about suspicious movements or criminal activity, assuring that every alert received through Dial-100 would be acted upon promptly.
