Midhani Chief Links Space Goals to Viksit Bharat
Students from several schools and space enthusiasts participated in the event.
Hyderabad:Dr S.V.S. Narayana Murty, chairman and managing director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani), spoke about the vision of Viksit Bharat — a developed India by 2047 — and linked it with the aspirations and achievements of former President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and India's development goals.
He was speaking at the National Space Day celebrations at the GP Birla Archaeological, Astronomical & Scientific Research Institute which held a day-long programme highlighting India's journey in space exploration and its vision for the future. Students from several schools and space enthusiasts participated in the event.
Dr Murty said India still had considerable ground to cover compared with leading nations in innovation and research. He highlighted the role of start-ups, research institutions, scientists, engineers and young innovators in building a stronger and more self-reliant India. He also highlighted Hyderabad's contribution of specialised steels, alloys and other advanced materials to India's technological development.
Dr Murty interacted with students, who raised several questions during the session. The celebrations also included a poster presentation competition for school and college students and space enthusiasts of all ages.
