Metro Rail’s 15-Floor Automated Parking Ready

This facility is expected to benefit Metro Rail commuters from nearby areas who have faced parking shortages along this stretch: Reports

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro Rail’s fully automated and computerised 15-floor multilevel car parking facility was operating on a trial basis, overseen by a technical team. Sources said the facility was running smoothly. Officials say the facility will help address parking problems in this busy area.

Sources indicated that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was likely to inaugurate the facility at an event organised by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited.

The inauguration has been delayed by over a year due to various reasons. The parking facility, located at the Metro Rail station near Gandhi Bhavan, spans 1,44,400 square feet. Of its 15 floors, 10 are designated for parking, accommodating about 250 four-wheelers and 200 two-wheelers, while the remaining five floors are reserved for commercial use, according to HMRL officials.

This facility is expected to benefit Metro Rail commuters from nearby areas who have faced parking shortages along this stretch. Until now, commuters have had to rely on parking at Nampally Railway Station or private lots.

The parking complex will also be useful during Numaish, the annual exhibition at Nampally. Built under a PPP model, the fully automated structure is the first of its kind in India, featuring German Puzzle parking technology.
