Metro Rail Offers 10 % Fare Rebate
L&TMRHL said the 10 per cent rebate, effective from May 24, was a gesture of goodwill aimed at easing the financial burden on passengers while maintaining financial prudence.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail commuters will get partial relief starting Saturday as L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) announced a 10 per cent rebate on newly revised fares across all fare zones in the three metro corridors. The announcement came on Tuesday, following the fare hike that came into effect last Saturday.
The revised fare structure saw the minimum ticket price increase from `10 to `12, and the maximum fare from `60 to `75, a 25 per cent hike that impacted around five lakh daily passengers. The hike was based on recommendations by the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC), as part of a broader strategy to ensure long-term sustainability of metro operations and maintenance.
L&TMRHL said the 10 per cent rebate, effective from May 24, was a gesture of goodwill aimed at easing the financial burden on passengers while maintaining financial prudence. The metro operator said the decision reflects a commitment to balancing commuter affordability with operational viability and was made after careful consideration of public feedback.
Talking about the rebate, K.V.B. Reddy, MD & CEO of L&TMRHL, said, “As a responsible urban transit operator, we remain committed to providing efficient and affordable mobility solutions. While the fare revision was essential for sustaining operations, we understand the importance of minimising the financial impact on our passengers.”
“In alignment with passenger feedback and welfare, we are offering a 10 per cent discount on revised fares from May 24. This demonstrates our dedication to making daily commuting more accessible,” he added. L&TMRHL urged passengers to visit www.ltmetro.com for detailed fare charts and updates.
