Meeseva Certificates to Get Advanced Security Paper: Sridhar Babu
The new Meeseva certificate paper incorporates 15 advanced security features designed to prevent the production of counterfeit certificates and unauthorised duplication

Hyderabad: In a significant step towards enhancing the security, durability and reliability of government documents, the Telangana government has introduced a new generation of security paper for Meeseva certificates.
Specially designed to resist tearing and withstand exposure to water, the new paper was launched by Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
15 Advanced Security Features to Prevent Forgery
The new Meeseva certificate paper incorporates 15 advanced security features designed to prevent the production of counterfeit certificates and unauthorised duplication. Details of these features have been withheld for security reasons.
Manufactured using specialised technology, the new paper is designed to be highly resistant to tearing and damage caused by water. It also offers greater resilience against wear and tear arising from routine handling, folding and long-term storage.
The enhanced durability will enable citizens to preserve important certificates in good condition for years. Under normal conditions, the improved paper is also expected to reduce the need for lamination, offering greater convenience to citizens while helping protect their documents over the long term.
Greater Protection for Documents That Matter for a Lifetime
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said that certificates issued by the government, including birth and death certificates and documents required for educational, employment and other official purposes, play a crucial role in people's lives.
“Many government certificates are documents that citizens need to preserve for decades, and sometimes throughout their lifetime. It is the government's responsibility to ensure that these documents remain durable, secure and reliable,” the Minister said.
He emphasised that the Telangana government was leveraging modern technology to improve the quality, security and convenience of public services.
The introduction of the new security paper would not only enhance the durability of certificates but also strengthen safeguards against forgery and counterfeiting, he said. The initiative would further reinforce public confidence in the authenticity and reliability of government-issued documents.
New Security Paper Replaces the Existing System in Use Since 2011
Meeseva centres have been providing a wide range of government services to citizens across Telangana. Special security paper has been used for printing Meeseva certificates since 2011.
The newly introduced paper replaces the existing version with an improved solution offering enhanced quality, security and durability. It is expected to be particularly beneficial for birth and death certificates and other important government documents that citizens need to preserve for extended periods.
The initiative reflects the Telangana government's continued commitment to modernising public service delivery through technology, while ensuring that essential government documents are more secure, durable and convenient for citizens to maintain.
