Authorities expect lakhs of devotees to visit the temple and take a holy dip in Jampanna Vagu during the Pushkaralu

ADILABAD: The state government will complete pending and incomplete development works at the Medaram temple on a priority basis ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027.
Large-scale works were undertaken at the temple during the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara held from January 28 to 31, 2026. Officials are now focusing on completing the remaining works and strengthening infrastructure.
Plans are under consideration to construct a permanent 30-bedded hospital at Medaram, with efforts underway to identify a suitable site. Steps are also being taken to ensure the functioning of the central lighting system for the convenience of devotees.
Authorities expect lakhs of devotees to visit the temple and take a holy dip in Jampanna Vagu during the Pushkaralu. Additional facilities are being planned to manage the anticipated footfall.
Minister for rural development Dansari Anasuya Seethakka, who reviewed the works, said, “Basic amenities are being created in advance as a large number of devotees are expected to visit the Sammakka-Saralamma Medaram temple during Godavari Pushkaralu 2027.”
She said, “Instructions were issued to officials to complete all pending Medaram temple development works and create permanent facilities, including bathing ghats, rest rooms and toilets, for devotees visiting throughout the year and during Godavari Pushkaralu.”
The minister said sanitation and security management at the temple premises, main roads and Jampanna Vagu would be strengthened on a regular basis, along with ensuring 24-hour power supply and drinking water.
She added that a special committee would be constituted for maintenance of the Sammakka Saralamma temple premises and surroundings, with a special officer to address issues faced by devotees.
