After undergoing surgery, she delivered a baby girl. However, a nurse identified as Aktari Begum allegedly told the mother that the newborn had died soon after birth. Fatima was discharged after three days and returned to Medak five days later.

Medak: Four persons were arrested after a newborn baby was allegedly sold for ₹1.5 lakh after the mother was falsely told that the child had died.
According to police, Nasra Fatima, a seven-month pregnant woman from Moula Ali in Secunderabad, had travelled to her in-laws’ place in Lakshminagar Thanda of Papannapet mandal in Medak district. While there, she was attacked by monkeys after they noticed a packet of chips in her hand. She fell during the attack and suffered severe bleeding, following which a friend rushed her to a nearby hospital.
After undergoing surgery, she delivered a baby girl. However, a nurse identified as Aktari Begum allegedly told the mother that the newborn had died soon after birth. Fatima was discharged after three days and returned to Medak five days later.
In a dramatic turn, an unidentified person informed her that her baby was actually alive. Shocked, she approached the police and lodged a complaint.
During the investigation, police found that the nurse had handed over the baby to a woman named Nasreen Unnisa, who then facilitated the sale of the infant to a couple from Siddipet—Mohammed Iqbaluddin and Nadia Sultana—for ₹1.5 lakh.
Police have arrested the nurse, the intermediary, and the couple who purchased the baby. Further investigation is underway.
