Hyderabad: Ahead of Ganesh festival celebrations, the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MCM) undertook an extensive emergency branch-pruning drive to ensure safe, smooth and obstruction-free movement for devotees and the public.
As many as 213 trees pruned across Malkajgiri, Keesara, Alwal, Bowenpally, Moula Ali, Kapra, Habsiguda, Peerzadiguda, Nagole, Saroornagar and Hayathnagar. The proactive drive strengthens festival preparedness while keeping public safety at the forefront.
Meanwhile, the MCM has intensified Anti-Larval Operations (ALO) and Friday–Dry Day activities across multiple divisions.
Breeding-source checks, stagnant-water removal, MLO oil & temephos spraying were carried out at vulnerable locations. Awareness drives were conducted in colonies, schools and public spaces educated residents and students on mosquito-borne diseases and prevention.
Saroornagar Lake also witnessed garbage and water-hyacinth removal and lake-edge cleaning. The staff eliminated breeding sources, according to officials.
