Massive Weekend Rush During Saraswati Pushkaralu In Kaleshwaram

The vehicles of devotees were caught in traffic jam up to 18 kilometers to reach Sangamam

Hyderabad: Heavy rush witnessed during Saraswati Pushkaralu at Triveni Sangamam at Kaleshwaram in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Saturday. The vehicles of devotees were caught in traffic jam up to 18 kilometers to reach Sangamam.

Almost one lakh people from different parts of the State especially from Hyderabad reached Kaleshwaram due to weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday. However, the district administration in coordination with the police department is taking necessary steps for the smooth flow of the traffic.

The rush was normal on the first day of commencement of pushkaralu on Thursday and the turnout gradually started increasing. Owing to weekend, a large number of devotees came to Kaleshwaram on their vehicles to take a holy dip.

Inspired by the spirit of Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a tent city has been established in Kaleshwaram to provide enhanced amenities for devotees taking a holy dip during pushkaralu. Situated near the pushkar ghats in approximately two acres, the facility features 40 well-equipped rental rooms.

To further cater to the needs of pilgrims, a dedicated dining hall and a specialized food court have been made available. Additionally, a dormitory with a capacity to accommodate 200 individuals has been specially arranged to ensure comfort and convenience.

Kaleshwaram is the only sacred site in South India where three rivers — Godavari, Pranahita and the subterranean Saraswati — converge and flow together. The revered Mukteswara Swamy temple on the banks of this confluence has a history spanning over a thousand years. It is architecturally unique, housing two Shiva Lingas—one representing Lord Shiva and the other Yama, the god of death.
