Massive Turnout for Hanuman Jayanti at Kondagattu

Officials said over two lakh devotees are expected during the three-day celebrations.

Karimnagar: Thousands of devotees gathered at the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Kondagattu, Mallial mandal of Jagtial district, on Thursday to mark Hanuman Chinna Jayanthi, with authorities putting in place extensive arrangements to manage the turnout.

District collector B. Satya Prasad and superintendent of police Ashok Kumar reviewed preparations during a midnight inspection on Wednesday. Officials said over two lakh devotees are expected during the three-day celebrations. Pilgrims, including those completing Hanuman Diksha, participated in rituals such as Abhishekam and special Aradhana.

The administration suspended all paid services and kept the temple open round the clock to facilitate devotees. Arrangements were made for sanitation, drinking water supply and queue management at the Kalyanakatta for tonsuring.

Around 1,000 police personnel were deployed, with surveillance through CCTV cameras. Heavy vehicles were restricted on the ghat road to regulate traffic. The health department set up round-the-clock medical camps and ambulance services, while officials from multiple departments were stationed to oversee arrangements.

Officials said the measures were aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of the festival and managing crowd flow.
