Massive Crackdown On Food Adulteration: Hyderabad Police Seize 129 Tonnes Of Fake Goods

Hyderabad: City police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Teams had registered 117 cases across the city and seized around 129.34 tonnes of adulterated food items since February and added that the police were working to stopping adulteration of food which was destroying the health of citizens.
"Food adulteration is a pest on society. It is taking away the lives of the citizens. The process of making Hyderabad adulteration free should be considered as a holy great yagna and all the staff should work with dedication," Sajjanar said, speaking during a visit to the H-FAST office set up at Begum Bazaar. He reviewed its performance and inspected the specially set up premises. Sajjanar spoke with field staff and inquired about the challenges and obstacles they faced and promised quick resolution for their problems.

Sajjanar presented certificates of appreciation to 108 police personnel for their performance. He said no one should engage in illegal activities and strict departmental action would be taken in case of indiscipline. Present at the event were task force DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, who heads H-FAST, Additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao, inspectors of various zones.
