Marwari Community Writes To DGP For Help Against Hate Speech

Hyderabad: The Telangana Agarwal Samaj has appealed to Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Jitender to take action against hate speech and provocative acts targeting the community. The threats would affect social harmony, law and order, and the state’s economy, it said.
In a press release on Thursday, Anirudh Gupta, president of the samaj, stated that he was writing on behalf of the Agarwal Samaj Telangana, the apex body representing the Agarwal and Marwari community. Gupta said he had highlighted recent incidents of hateful slogans and intimidation against members of the community.
Referring to one such incident at Monda Market in Secunderabad, he said a group of people raised inflammatory slogans within the market premises. This, he noted, created fear and insecurity among the business community and residents of the area.
He pointed out that similar hate speech incidents were reported in the Amangal area, and videos of these events were being deliberately recorded and circulated on social media to amplify hostility.
“The Marwari and Agarwal community has been an integral part of Telangana society for over a century. We are not outsiders but proud stakeholders in the state’s progress. Our community has always been at the forefront,” Gupta said.
