Many Women BJP Leaders Join BRS Ahead Of Jubilee Hills Bypolls

Hyderabad: Many BJP leaders and party workers, mostly women, joined the BRS in the presence of party leader T. Harish Rao at an event held at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. Around 200 new joinees include senior BJP leader Kalavathi, BJP state executive member B. Laxmi, and several Mahila Morcha leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that Congress leaders should refrain from insulting the family of Maganti Gopinath in their bid to gain an upper hand. “The wife who lost her husband and the children who lost their father are in deep grief. It is appalling that Congress leaders are speaking in a manner that insults the daughter, who is mourning the loss of her husband,” he said.

He questioned why Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not speak up when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was allegedly resorting to Vote Chori during the Jubilee Hills elections. He accused the Congress of creating 20,000 fake votes to defeat Sunitha, who lost her husband in Jubilee Hills.

Harish Rao urged the Congress to exercise restraint in the Jubilee Hills byelections if welfare schemes are to be extended once again to the underprivileged.
