It will open at 10 am on the first day.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Manuu Vice Chancellor, will chair the inaugural session. Prof. Sushila Kaushik, political scientist and founding director of WSDC, will attend as chief guest. Attendance app rolled out for govt schools

Hyderabad: The school education department rolled out facial recognition-based attendance across government schools on August 1. Of the 1,28,760 teaching and non-teaching staff, 96,327 had registered by 5 pm on day one, and 89,922 used the app to mark their attendance.

The system is now active in 24,951 of the 24,973 schools. Only 22 schools did not begin the process. Around 75 per cent of the total staff registered on the first day, and among them, about 93 per cent marked attendance using the FRS app.

Peddapalli, where the system was piloted last December, recorded the highest registration rate at over 97 per cent. However, only three out of four of those registered actually used the app to mark attendance. Districts such as Hyderabad, Nirmal and Mahbubnagar had lower registration rates but saw higher compliance among those who had registered.
