Manjira Pipeline Leak Disrupts Water Supply in Hyderabad
Water Board begins emergency repairs; supply expected to resume by Saturday afternoon

A major leakage on a key Manjira drinking water pipeline has disrupted supply to several parts of Hyderabad, with restoration expected by Saturday afternoon, according to the Water Board.
The disruption affected areas falling under O&M Division numbers 6, 9, 17 and 22. Localities facing interruption included Beeramguda, Ameenpur, Miyapur, Deepti Sreenagar, KPHB Housing Board, Nizampet, Hydernagar, Moosapet and Erragadda.
The board said a “heavy leakage” developed at Rudraram on the Manjira Phase-2, 1500 mm diameter PSC pumping main that supplies water to the Greater Hyderabad area, leading to an interruption in drinking water supply on Friday. Board officials said they had taken up emergency repair works and stated that the repairs will be completed by tomorrow afternoon, after which supply will resume.
