MANCHERIAL: Mancherial MLA K. Premsagar Rao triggered a political stir within the Congress on Monday after publicly expressing discontent over being overlooked for a ministerial post. Speaking at the “Jai Bapu, Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhan” meeting in Mancherial, Rao alleged that some party leaders were trying to sideline him and suppress his voice ahead of the next Cabinet expansion.
Asserting that he deserved a ministerial position, Rao said he has consistently represented the marginalised Adivasi, Dalit, and Minority communities in the erstwhile Adilabad district. He highlighted his contributions, including organising the Indravelli Dalitha Girijana Dandora, and emphasised his long-standing loyalty to the Congress over the last 30 years.
Without naming anyone, Rao took an apparent dig at Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek, alleging that a leader who had switched between BJP and BRS before recently joining Congress was now lobbying for a ministerial berth, despite not standing with the party during its difficult phases.

In response, Gaddam Vivek defended his credentials, stating that he was personally invited into the party by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He pointed to his family’s political legacy, led by his father G. Venkata Swamy (KaKa), and highlighted recent electoral successes. “Though the Congress lost in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Medak parliamentary seats, the party secured the Peddapalli Lok Sabha seat and three Assembly seats, including mine and my brother’s,” he said.
