Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu: Telangana Allows Enhanced Ticket Rates
From January 12 to 18, single-screen theatres can sell each ticket at higher prices. A rise of Rs 50 in single screens and of Rs 100 in multiplexes has been permitted.

In Telangana, the government today approved a price hike for the tickets of Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu ahead of the movie's release on January 12.
The family entertainer will premiere in theatres at 8 pm on January 11 with paid shows, where each ticket can be sold for Rs 600. This 100% hike applies only to premiere shows across the Nizam territory.
From January 12 to 18, single-screen theatres can sell each ticket at higher prices. A rise of Rs 50 in single screens and of Rs 100 in multiplexes has been permitted.
The Government Order comes a day after the Telangana High Court expressed dissatisfaction. Suspending a memo, Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar cautioned the home department against deviating from the ticket prices fixed through GO 120 of 2021, which was issued by the same department. The judge also directed the government to not issue any memo, circular or executive order allowing ticket price hikes in the future. Vijay Gopal, counsel appearing for a petitioner who challenged the memo dated January 8 allowing the enhanced ticket prices for The Raja Saab, argued that the Chief Justice bench of the High Court had earlier struck down the government orders on ticket prices and laid down guidelines.
