KAKINADA: A 45-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death and his wife and son were injured following a dispute over a 10-metre-wide pathway between two houses at Pedanindrakolanu village in Nidamarru mandal of Eluru district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Madda Yakobu. His wife Prasanna and son Vamsi, sustained injuries and were admitted to the Government Hospital at Tadepalligudem.
According to Nidamarru circle inspector Nakka Rajanikumar, a dispute over the pathway had been continuing between Yakobu and Chaganti Yesudasu.
Police said Yesudasu had recently submitted a grievance through the Public Grievance Redressal System. On Saturday, the Nidamarru mandal development officer and the panchayat secretary visited the site and informed both parties that the issue would be resolved.
Police said the dispute escalated when Chinnam Musalayya, a relative of Yesudasu, allegedly attempted to level the pathway with gravel. An argument reportedly broke out between Yakobu and Musalayya, following which Yesudasu allegedly stabbed Yakobu with a knife.
Yakobu died at the scene.
