Man Loses Rs 75 Lakh In Casino Fraud

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old man from Secunderabad paid out Rs 75 lakh to an online casino fraud over a period of three years. Incidentally, in 2021, the same city resident had lost Rs 10 lakh to the same set of fraudsters.
In his complaint to the city cybercrime police, the victim stated that in 2021 he received a WhatsApp message from fraudsters posing as representatives of an online betting platform. They promoted betting on cricket, teen patti and casino games, assuring easy profits through a game, police said.
Initially, after depositing Rs 10,000 in 2021, the victim was given small profits to gain his trust. Encouraged, he deposited Rs 10 lakh in multiple transactions into various bank accounts provided by the operators. Eventually, he lost the entire amount and stopped playing.
In March 2022, the same fraudsters contacted him again and persuaded him to play on another betting platform, claiming it required a lower minimum deposit. Trusting them despite his previous experience, the victim resumed playing.
Between 2022 and 2025, he deposited Rs 75 lakh through multiple transactions as directed by the accused, across several online betting websites. Ultimately, he suffered heavy financial losses.

Cheated girl makes suicide attempt
Hyderabad: A minor victim attempted to die suicide after a Mahbubnagar-based man reneged on his promise to marry her and forced her to abort her pregancy.
According to Madhuranagar police, the accused entered into a relationship with the victim after promising to marry her. When she became pregnant, the accused refused to marry her. He also began threatening her with dire consequences if she did not abort the pregnancy, The victim tried to end her life on Monday. She was rescued and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Madhuranagar. She gave a statement alleging the accused of trying to assault her parents, police said.
Based on a complaint filed by her parents, the Madhuranagar police registered a zero FIR under the Pocso Act and Prevention of Rape charges against the accused and transferred the case to Mahbubnagar district police for further investigation.
