Hyderabad: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by a man in Telangana's Mahabubnagar district on Saturday after she rejected his romantic advances, police said. The incident took place in the Jadcherla area when the woman was getting out of an autorickshaw, they said.
According to police, the 30-year-old accused attacked the woman with a knife, injuring her neck. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Following the attack, people present at the spot allegedly assaulted the accused, who was later admitted to a government hospital in critical condition, police said.
A police officer said the accused and the victim had become acquainted when the woman was working at a private school in Hyderabad. She had rejected his advances and the two had disputes thereafter, the officer said.
